Passing paid sicks days for ALL Connecticut Workers

Julie was one of the lead champions to pass an expanded paid sick days bill that will cover all workers in the state. The bill was approved without any Republican support.

Raising the minimum wage

Julie lead the effort to raise Connecticut's minimum wage to $15 and index it to inflation so no one falls behind. 

Paid family and medical leave

Thanks to the 2019 paid family leave legislation that Julie championed at the Capitol, more than 55,000 workers a year were able to take time off to take care of a newborn, recover from an illness, or take care of a loved one.

Julie was one of the leading voices at the Capitol speaking against Republican attempts to roll back our personal freedoms.

Birthing center licensing

Julie's efforts to pass legislation to license birthing centers ensured parents have more options for pregnancy care in our communities.

Cancer relief fund for firefighters

Julie was one of the leading proponents of new legislation creating a relief fund for firefighters suffering for cancer. 

Safe staffing for Connecticut hospitals

Julie championed legislation establishing clear staffing guidelines in Connecticut's hospitals, protecting doctors and nurses and ensuring patient safety. 

A budget for working families

Increasing funding for our public schools

Julie fought to increase additional funding for schools in our district, including a large state investment in a new state-of-the-art high school in Danbury.

Expanding access to childcare

Julie was one of the leading voices at the Capitol to expand funding for childcare, adding additional slots in our community.

Cutting taxes for working families

Julie voted in support of a balanced budget that pays down debt, grows our economy, and cut taxes for working families — making Connecticut more affordable.
